Now more questions are asked from this area. More difficult questions are also asked. Do not spend too much time in memorizing unnecessary fact, you should have a broad awareness about various fields. At the same time , focus more on areas, which have been asked in the past.

INDIA YEAR BOOK :
                                       This is important for the prelims and also for some mains two mark question. But there is no need ( and practically not possible ) to read everything given in the book, be logical and concentrate on the basics, which can be asked in the exam.

OPTIONAL SUBJECTS

  The first the obvious question that comes up here , is how to choose one’s optional subject. Given that, after the change of pattern, only one optional subject needs to be chosen, a good choice of the optional subject might even guarantee a more then cut off score ( and beyond) in mains ( written) Examination.
